York Little Theatre is holding auditions on July 20 and 21, for their upcoming production of Forbidden Broadway: Greatest Hits which runs September 4 - 20, 2009.

Forbidden Broadway: Greatest Hits is fast, funny, smart and entertaining. It is a loving lampoon of Broadway's greatest moments and pays tribute to its hit musicals and top performers. Nothing is sacred in Gerard Alessandrini's cabaret-style show which is New York's longest-running Off-Broadway show. He affectionately satirizes even the most beloved of shows with ingenious parody lyrics and zany concepts.

Auditioners should contact York Little Theatre either at info@ylt.org or 717-854-3894 to schedule an appointment. Audition requirements include 2 songs of approximately 16 bars or 1 minute each that displays a belting voice and a traditional voice (especially in the upper range). Actors will also read cold selections from the script, will perform in improvisational scenarios and should dress comfortably for a movement audition.

York Little Theatre is a nonprofit community theatre which values and nurtures the irreplaceable role of the arts and is dedicated to engaging and enriching its entire, diverse community in the dramatic arts through a broad range of professionally directed, entertaining, stimulating, and sometimes provocative performances.

York Little Theatre is located at 27 South Belmont Street, York PA at exit 19A of I-83, just south of Market Street. York Little Theatre is a proud member of The Cultural Alliance of York.
