On April 16, York Little Theatre, in conjunction with Baltimore's Denny & Lee Magic Studio, is presenting a rare opportunity to see a variety of delightful comedy/magic acts all in one spectacular event. The show includes magicians Dennis Haney (Denny & Lee), George Gilbert, David Breth, Jessie Mccarly, TEO, The Brother From Another Planet, and Illusions by Vick. Headlining the event is the world famous, side-splitting comedy-magic antics of Kohl & Company.

Kohl & Company's unique entertainment, blending magic, music and hilarity, has tickled audiences all over the world. Having performed with such stars as Randy Travis, Jeff Foxworthy, The Smothers Brothers and Mickey Rooney, Kohl & Co. "combines vaudeville slapstick with magical madness where, in the end something wonderful happens and everyone survives!" Jerry Lewis said of Kohl & Company, "...And I thought I was wacko...This is one of the funniest acts I have ever seen!" They are winners of the Siegfried & Roy "Golden Lion Award" for comedy/magic in Las Vegas and the Clown Hall of Fame "Lifetime of Laughter" award. They were voted in 2008 by "Magic Magazine" and an International group of their peers as "One Of The Top Ten Funniest Acts In Magic Today." They have appeared 3 times on the Jerry Lewis Telethon, performed in Monte Carlo for Prince Rainier, are one of the only comedy magic acts in the US to appear on England's acclaimed "Best of Magic" series, and the only American novelty act to appear on Germany's 1st New Year's Eve TV Spectacular Celebrating the Unification. A clip from one of their performances can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lb7Vl2moTOg.

Dennis Haney from Baltimore has opened for, met, or worked with the who's who of nightclub and Stage Entertainment that spans from the 1950s to the 1990s, from Frank Gorshin and Joey Bishop to Air Supply and the Pointer Sisters. Haney has worked Super Bowl hospitality parties and product roll-out exhibits for the likes of IBM, Pepsi, General Mills, and a host of other corporate giants. At one time the touring Denny & Lee show was one of the highest-paid acts in the world.

George Gilbert is a Maryland-based Festival Entertainer, Magician, Comedian and Fire Eater who is known in the entertainment community as being able to build some of the largest crowds within minutes of his show starting. Gilbert was voted Best Magic Show in Ocean City, 2009. Illusions by Vick is known as a serious purveyor of unique, thought provoking and amazing magical experiences. The most skeptical audience member will sit on the edge of the seat in wonder, asking whether what they just experienced was real or an apparition. TEO (The Brother From Another Planet) uses a unique blend of magic, music, audience participation, and story-telling to entertain audiences. David Breth is a professional entertainer delivering his unique blend of family fun, squeaky-clean comedy, magic and audience participation. David dazzles audiences with his effects, charisma and charm while modernizing classic magic effects for the 21st century. Jesse McCarley is a conjurer, hypnotist and juggler from the Baltimore area.

A Night of Magic and Wonder was the brainchild of magician and actor Casey "Cam" McMillion, who is the coordinator and director of the event. "I have three passions in life: acting, magic and music. York Little Theatre is the place where it all started for me; the place I spent countless hours and made a number of friends. The world-famous Denny & Lee magic studio is where I crafted my love for magic and illusion. Both businesses are hurting in these hard economic times and I wanted to do something which would not only raise money but also raise awareness of the value of community theatre, the extraordinary world of magic, and the arts," says McMillion. The first Night of Magic and Wonder was held on November 20, 2010, to a very appreciative audience. McMillion decided to organize a second show, A Night of Magic and Wonder, Part 2. "The response from the magic community has been great," explains McMillion. "These are some of the areas best entertainers (magicians) performing together for a great cause and they will illuminate your hearts--young and old alike. This will be like having a little bit of Las Vegas right in the heart of York, PA"
All proceeds for the evening will be divided between York Little Theatre and the Denny & Lee Magic Studio. York Little Theatre is the area's oldest and largest community theatre. Established in 1933 during the height of The Great Depression, YLT has been entertaining audiences with a wide variety of drama, musicals, programs, and classes for 77 years. Denny & Lee Magic Studio is a colorful Baltimore institution which also has a location in Las Vegas. For decades, performers at all levels have dropped by the store to shop, seek advice, or hobnob with other magicians. Lining the studio walls are signed publicity photos of some of the acts and artists Denny worked with. More information about Denny & Lee Magic Studio can be found at www.DennyMagic.com.

Says McMillion, "As a child, I loved attending magic shows. I would go home and imitate the magicians by throwing bed sheets over the family cat and pretending to make him disappear. I want to bring that joy into the hearts of others." A Night of Magic and Wonder: Part 2. will be held at York Little Theatre, 27 S. Belmont St., York, on April 16, and is sponsored by 98.5 the Peak. The lobby opens at 7PM where strolling magicians will perform before the main show which begins at 8:00. Tickets are $20, all reserved. More information and tickets are available by calling the box office at 717-854-5715, 11 - 6, Monday through Friday, or visiting www.ylt.org .
