The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announces that the company of the first North American tour of WICKED is thrilled to welcome Tim Kazurinsky as the Wizard, Nick Adams as Fiyero and Jenny Florkowski as Nessarose on Tuesday, February 4 in Pittsburgh, PA. WICKED will return to the Benedum Center January 15 through February 9. WICKED is part of the 2013-2014 PNC Broadway Across America-Pittsburgh series, presented by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Pittsburgh Symphony and Broadway Across America.
Kazurinsky was a cast member of Saturday Night Live 1981- 84 (NBC) and played Officer Sweetchuck in 3 Police Academy films. Other film and TV credits include Neighbors, My Bodyguard, Somewhere in Time, "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Princess and the Pea," "Married With Children."
Adams originated/starred on Broadway as Adam/Felicia in Priscilla Queen of the Desert (Two Audience Choice Awards, American Theater Hall of Fame Honoree, Astaire Award nomination). Other Broadway credits include A Chorus Line, Chicago, La Cage Aux Folles, Guys & Dolls and Pirate Queen.
Florkowski assumes the role of Nessarose after understudying it on this tour. Other national tours include Irving Berlin's White Christmas, 42nd Street and CATS.
Kazurinsky, Adams and Florkowski join a cast that includes Alison Luff as Elphaba, Gina Beck as Glinda and Alison Fraser as Madame Morrible.
The company also features Tom Flynn (Dr. Dillamond), Jesse JP Johnson (Boq), and Laurel Harris (Standby for Elphaba) with Shayla Beck, Dina Bennett, Nikki Bohne, Lauren Boyd, Kyle Brown, Nirine S. WICKED, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Pippin, Godspell, Disney's Enchanted, Academy Award winner for Pocahontas and The Prince of Egypt) and book by Winnie Holzman ("My So Called Life," "Once And Again" and "thirtysomething"), is based on the 1995 best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire. The musical is directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello (Take Me Out, Love! Valour! Compassion!, The Vagina Monologues) and features musical staging by Tony Award winner Wayne Cilento (Aida, The Who's Tommy, How To Succeed...). WICKED, the untold story of the witches of Oz, is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Pictures, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone.
WICKED features set design by Tony Award winner Eugene Lee (Ragtime, Show Boat, Candide, Sweeney Todd), costume design by Tony winner Susan Hilferty (Spring Awakening, Into the Woods, Assassins), lighting design by Tony winner Kenneth Posner (Tony Award winner for The Coast of Utopia, Hairspray) and sound design by Tony Meola (The Lion King). Stephen Oremus is the show's music supervisor. Orchestrations are by William David Brohn, with dance arrangements by James Lynn Abbott.
