Tituss Burgess to Keynote Henry Mancini Musical Theatre Awards

Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center is pleased to announce that Broadway and television star Tituss Burgess will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2016 Henry Mancini Musical Theatre Awards. In its 22nd year, the Mancini Awards celebrate excellence in high school musical theatre in Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence Counties. This year's ceremony is May 21 at 7 pm in Lincoln Park's Mainstage Theater.

Mr. Burgess made his Broadway debut in the musical "Good Vibrations" in 2005, and then appeared in "Jersey Boys" that same year. He originated the role of Sebastian in the musical "The Little Mermaid" in 2007 and went on to the role of Nicely-Nicely Johnson in the revival of "Guys and Dolls" in 2009.

He is currently the star of the Netflix original series, "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," for which he garnered a an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at the 2015 Critics' Choice Television Awards.

His accomplishments in the world of performing arts serve as an inspiration to the young aspiring artists that will be present for the ceremony in a celebration of high school musical theatre," says Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center Artistic Producing Director Justin Fortunato.

Tickets for the Awards Ceremony are on sale for $10 and can be purchased online at www.lincolnparkarts.org/eventspage.
