The REP, Point Park University's professional theatre company, presents Jason Miller's That Championship Season at Point Park University's Pittsburgh Playhouse Friday, Sept. 11 through Sunday, Sept 20; a preview performance is open to the public on Thursday, Sept. 10. Playhouse Artistic Director Ronald Allan-Lindblom directs.

In this engaging story about the disillusionment of dreams, four former members of the state championship basketball team and their coach gather in Scranton, PA for their twenty year reunion. Once heroes on the court, they now look to be saved from their own lives. Their futile evolution from victorious high school jocks into characterless men is revealed with biting humor and saving compassion. Holding onto fraudulent memories lost in what once was, they must together face what they have become and decide if they can redeem themselves for one last chance at glory. That Championship Season was the winner of the "Triple Crown" of theatre awards, scoring a Pulitzer Prize, Tony Award and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award as Best Play of the Season.

The REP's production features Robert Haley as Coach, Jarrod DiGiorgi as Tom Daley, Philip Winters as George Sikowski, David Cabot as James Daley, and Daryll Heysham as Phil Romano. Scenic design is by Michael Thomas Essad; lights by Llyod Sobel; costumes by Don Difonso; and sound design by Earl Hughes.
