The REP, Point Park University's professional theatre company, closes its 2009-2010 season with a world premiere, A Confluence of Dreaming, written by Tammy Ryan and directed by John Amplas, from May 28 - June 13, 2010 in the Studio Theatre in the Pittsburgh Playhouse.
The cast of four includes Bridget Connors as Carol, Robert Turano as Peter/Restaurant Owner, Sam Turich as Ted, and Connie Castanzo as Morgan/Waitress. Scenic design is by Stephanie Mayer-Staley; costume design is by Michael Montgomery; lighting design is by Andrew David Ostrowski; sound design is by StEve Shapiro; and video design is by Jessi Sedon.
Tammy Ryan's plays have been produced and developed across the country. A member of the Dramatists Guild, the playwright has received the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust's Creative Achievement Award, The Heinz Endowment's Creative Heights Grant and fellowships from the Pa. Council on the Arts and the Sewanee Writers Conference. A Confluence of Dreaming was originally commissioned by City Theater Company.
The production previews Thursday, May 27 and runs Friday, May 28 through Sunday, June 13, 2010. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. The cast will be available for a talkback on Saturday, May 29 following the 2:00 PM performance.
