Point Park University's Conservatory of Performing Arts is proud to welcome two new faculty members beginning with the fall semester.
Tim Marquette is an assistant professor of Musical Theatre Voice and coordinator of Private Voice. As a singer and actor, he has performed all around the world, including New York City, Boston, Monterey, St. Petersburg, London and Rome.
Tim's musical theatre credits include Leo Bloom in The Producers, Ren McCormack in Footlose, Jesus in Godspell, Will Parker in Oklahoma!, Grinch in Seussical and Indio in West Side Story. His opera credits include Antonio in Le Nozze di Figaro and St. Brioche in Die Lustige Witwe. He also is a proud member of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's Mendelssohn Choir in Pittsburgh. He is a director, musical director, voice coach and accompanist, and has enjoyed working at various high schools, universities and theatre companies around the world.
Adam Wachter is a visiting assistant professor of Musical Theatre. He is a composer, lyricist and musical director, and the recipient of the 2018 Stiles + Drewe Prize for songwriting.
Wachter wrote the score and screenplay for the award-winning short film "Sign," and his original musical Tarrytown won the 2017 San Diego Critics' Circle Award for Best New Musical. He has created music for the films "Are You Joking?" and "Broadway Musicals: A Jewish Legacy," and the online series "Wacky Races," "The Battery's Down" and "Submissions Only." His music-directing credits include the New York productions of Old Jews Telling Jokes, Carrie, Unlock'd and Yank!, as well as shows at regional theaters throughout the U.S. He was recently featured conducting Into the Woods on the primetime ABC television special "Encore!" hosted by Kristen Bell, and his Broadway keyboard credits include War Paint, Allegiance, Finding Neverland, Peter Pan and The Addams Family.
