Pittsburgh Public Theater closes its highly successful season with Art, Yasmina Reza's Tony Award-winning comedy about three men and a painting. Directed by The Public's Producing Artistic Director Ted Pappas, Art runs May 27 -June 27, 2010 at the O'Reilly Theater, Pittsburgh Public Theater's home in the heart of Downtown's Cultural District. For tickets call 412.316.1600 or visit www.ppt.org.

In Art, when Serge (Darren Eliker) buys an expensive all-white painting, he asks his friends Marc (Rob Breckenridge) and Yvan (Harry Bouvy) what they think. The question has hilarious results as it leads the guys to take sides, switch back, call each other names, talk about art, argue about friendship, trade insults, discuss philosophy, come to blows, and in the end do something that's completely surprising. Since its French premiere in 1994, Reza's smart and stylish play has received international acclaim.

Art was translated by Christopher Hampton. The design team for The Public's production is Anne Mundell (Scenic), Ted Pappas (Costumes), Phil Monat (Lighting), and Zach Moore (Sound). Ruth E. Kramer is the Production Stage Manager and Adrienne Wells is the Assistant Stage Manager.
