Pittsburgh Musical Theater Announces 2018-2019 Seize The Stage Season - NEWSIES, IN THE HEIGHTS, and More!

Pittsburgh Musical Theater will continue to stage shows at both the Byham Theater and their own Gargaro Theater, in the city's West End. This exciting theatrical line-up includes options for everyone to enjoy.

The season will consist of the Big Apple at the Byham Series and the return of the Rockin' West End Series and PMT After Hours Series.

Annie will take the Byham Stage October 25 - 28, 2018.

Leapin' lizards! The irrepressible comic strip heroine takes center stage in one of the world's best-loved musicals. Follow Annie and her cheery spark of positivity through New York City as she searches for her parents on this fun-filled adventure of friendship. Annie is a special presentation by the students of the Richard E. Rauh Conservatory, backed by the talented CAPA Orchestra, and fully produced by the professional artists of Pittsburgh Musical Theater.

The second show in the Big Apple at the Byham Series is Disney's Newsies, May 2 - 12, 2019.

Join Jack and his band of newsboys as they rally to take a stand for what's right! Set in New York City at the turn of the century and based on a true story, Disney's Newsies follows the exhilarating tale of Jack Kelly, the leader of a group of teenage newsboys who has dreams that far exceed those of the hardships of the streets.

The Rockin' West End Series includes In the Heights and Nunsense the Mega-Musical at the Gargaro Theater.

In the Heights takes place January 24 - February 3, 2019.

Nunsense the Mega Musical takes place March 21 - 31, 2019.

All the fun of the original Nunsense has been super-sized! Starring the original five nuns and featuring five new male and female characters, a new song, "One Last Hope," and two expanded dance numbers, Nunsense The Mega Musical has been called "A hail of fun and frolic" by The New York Times.

The PMT After Hours series will present Hedwig and the Angry Inch, November 9 - 17, 2018.

This genre-bending, fourth-wall-smashing musical sensation, with a pulsing score and electrifying performances, tells the story of one of the most unique characters to ever hit the stage. Hedwig centers on an East German transsexual, "a slip of a girlyboy," who moves to America after a botched sex change operation. By the end, our heroine embraces the fullness of her identity in one of the most electrifying scenes.
