Applications are now available for the 2011 Pittsburgh CLO Summer Internship Program. The Summer Internship Program runs approximately 10 weeks beginning in mid-May to early August, depending upon the internship being applied for, and affords students 18 years of age and older the opportunity to work one-on-one with musical theater industry professionals.
Internships are available in the following areas: Cabaret Theater, Choreography, Company Management, Costume Coordination, Development, Education & Outreach, Graphic/Web Design, Hair Design, Lighting Design, Music, Special Events for the National High School Musical Theater Awards, Production Management, Property Coordination, Public Relations/Special Events, Sound Design, Stage Direction, Stage Management and Video Production.
By working behind-the-scenes on
Pittsburgh CLO's 2011 Summer Season, interns will receive professional training and invaluable hands-on experience in both musical theater and non-profit administration. Running May 31 through August 7 at the Benedum Center, CLO's 2011 Summer Season will feature the world premiere of Love Changes Everything, a song and dance celebration of
Andrew Lloyd Webber's music. This bold new production joins the Pittsburgh premiere of 9 to 5: The Musical, and dynamic new productions of Jekyll & Hyde, The Sound of Music and Jesus Christ Superstar to complete the 2011 Summer Season.
Established in 1973 and funded through the generosity of the CLO Guild, the
Pittsburgh CLO Internship program provides students with a stipend per contracted week to cover expenses and the opportunity for college credit, but more importantly, the chance to pursue their artistic interests professionally.
