Pittsburgh CLO is set to hold auditions for The Amazingly True Adventures of Nellie Bly. They are seeking four male and two female singer/actors ages 18 to 35 (non-Equity only).

Auditions for Pittsburgh CLO's Gallery of Heroes touring production of The Amazingly True Adventures of Nellie Bly. The tour runs January 9-May 19, 2012.

When: 4 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2011
Auditioners will be seen in the order they arrive

Where: Pittsburgh CLO Academy of Musical Theater
Penn Avenue Place - 130 CLO Academy Way, 8th Floor

Requirements:
Individuals wishing to audition should prepare 2 songs (in musical theater style), 16 bars of one ballad and one up-tempo. Auditioners should bring legible sheet music in the correct key. A one-minute comedic monologue is also required. Auditioners should also bring a typed resume and headshot.

Miscellaneous:
Performers must be available during the day Monday-Friday from January through May. Rehearsals begin on January 2, 2012. Both rehearsals and performances are in the daytime.

The 2012 Gallery of Heroes school tours will offer local actors the opportunity to perform in The Amazingly True Adventures of Nellie Bly. The spring tour will run from January through May 2012. The Gallery of Heroes program offers an entertaining alternative to traditional lecture and books.

Through dramatic sketches and musical vignettes, Pittsburgh CLO's Gallery of Heroes program takes its 50-minute mini-musicals to area schools to educate and enlighten students about great historical figures. The Amazingly True Adventures of Nellie Bly introduces students to Nellie Bly, a pioneering investigative journalist, who took a whirlwind trip around the world in 1889 to beat Phileas Fogg, the fictional hero of Jules Verne's "Around the World in Eighty Days." The Amazingly True Adventures of Nellie Bly book, music and lyrics are by Jason Coll.
