"Unfortunately, I took a fall yesterday on the streets of New York and injured my shoulder," said Sedaka. "I am so disappointed, as I was looking forward to visiting and performing this weekend in Pittsburgh. My sincerest apologies to the Pittsburgh Symphony and to all of those who were coming to the performances. I look forward to returning to Pittsburgh really soon. Thank you for your understanding!"
The weekend's PNC Pops performances, "Timeless Love Songs," will now feature the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, led by Assistant Conductor Andrés Franco, and Broadway star Doug LaBrecque and Tony Award winner Debbie Gravitte singing Broadway hits and great love songs of the 1950s and 1960s. Ticket prices for the performances begin at $22.
Neil Sedaka's performance with the Pittsburgh Symphony will be rescheduled, and a new date will be announced as soon as possible.
Tickets for the Neil Sedaka concerts can be used to attend this weekend's new program. If preferred, refunds are available through the Heinz Hall Box Office.
