Point Park University's Conservatory Dance Company presents Pittsburgh Connections Nov. 12 - 14 and 19 - 21 at the George Rowland White Performance Studio on the downtown campus. The program features the work of Dionna PridGeon, Craig Kaufman, Kassandra Taylor, Gina Patterson and Justin Myles; all five are seasoned artists with Pittsburgh roots.

Dionna PridGeon presents Outlined, a contemporary jazz piece featuring music by Bernard Herrmann, Tomosayu Hotel, Charles Bernstein, The RZA and Issac Hayes. PridGeon is a Point Park alumna and currently an independent choreographer in Chicago.

A Path Home, choreographed by Craig Kaufman, is an athletic, partnering piece featuring music composed by Zoe Keating and engineered by John Nevin. Kaufman is a Point Park alumnus and recently retired from Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago.

Gina Patterson returns home to present Found Songs, a contemporary ballet piece set to music by Ólafur Arnalds and Max Richter that is comprised of a series of memories. Patterson is a Pittsburgh native and former dancer with Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, Ballet Austin, Ballet Florida, and American Repertory Ensemble. She is currently the artistic director for VOICE Dance Company and has won numerous awards for her original choreography.

Point Park alumna and multiple award-winning choreographer Kassandra Taylor presents Conversion, a quirky, unique, collaborative piece set to music by The Junkman. Taylor has choreographed and performed all over the country, and currently is a founding member of the Winston Salem Festival Ballet and has become a full time faculty member and guest artist for High Point Ballet and Festival Dance Center.

Justin Myles returns to Pittsburgh, fresh off the national tour of STOMP!, to present a strong, rhythmical tap piece he composed and recorded the music for. Myles is a Point Park alumnus who, in addition to performing all over the country, is currently a songwriter and musician.

Pittsburgh Connections performances run for two weekends: Nov. 12 through Nov. 14 and Nov. 19 through Nov. 21 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18 -$20 (special group and student rates are available) and can be purchased by calling the Pittsburgh Playhouse box office at 412-392-8000 or online at www.pittsburghplayhouse.com.
