City Theatre has announced its Arts Stimulus Package, providing free performances for anyone who has never previously attended City Theatre. "We think inspiration may be melting down in Pittsburgh right now and is at risk of reaching historic lows. We wanted to do our part to provide billions to help this region's economy. Lacking that kind of money, what we do have is billions of good reasons to make your first visit to City Theatre," said Greg Quinlan, Managing Director.
Special performances from March 11 - 15 of both Mary's Wedding and Male Intellect: The Second Coming! will be free to anyone who has never attended a performance at City Theatre. City Theatre Marketing Director Sean Kelly added, "This may seem like a thinly veiled attempt to get people in our doors, and well, it is." City Theatre is offering two different chances to escape the recession, the outrageously funny and politically incorrect Robert Dubac in Male Intellect: The 2nd Coming! or the unabashed romanticism of Mary's Wedding by Stephen Massicotte.
To further stimulate the South Side economy, City Theatre will also provide a free beverage to patrons who show a receipt for dinner from a local South Side restaurant during Mary 11 - 15 performances. For a list of South Side restaurants, go to www.citytheatrecompany.org and follow the link to "plan your visit" and click on "neighborhood restaurants".
To be eligible, patrons must be a member of a household that has never purchased tickets to City Theatre. Limit two tickets per household. To take advantage of the offer, call or visit the City Theatre box office at 431.CITY between 1-4 pm Tuesday through Thursday 3/12 and use the code "Stimulus". Availability is limited. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
