Broadway's N'Kenge to Sing With Pittsburgh Symphony  Image

N'Kenge is an internationally acclaimed singer with multiple laurels to her name. Now, N'Kenge is thrilled to be one of the four spectacular Broadway artists who take the stage at Heinz Hall for 'Broadway Divas'. With Jack Everly leading the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the show promises to be full of grandeur with performances of major hits from Les Misérables, Dreamgirls, My Fair Lady, Funny Girl, Mame, Cabaret, Chicago, Wicked and many more. The Broadway Divas are Kristen Plumley who has performed with many opera companies throughout the country, including New York City Opera, Virginia Opera, Opera Festival of New Jersey and Chautauqua Opera; Christina Bianco who rose to fame as a YouTube sensation recently completed a 14 city, UK tour and made her Australian, Swiss & South African concert debuts; Christina DeCicco who starred as Eva Peron in the original cast of the 2012 Revival of Evita opposite Ricky Martin and has performed with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Naples Philharmonic, Utah Symphony and Baltimore Symphony, to name a few; and Broadway's very own N'Kenge.

N'Kenge made her Carnegie Hall debut with The New York Pops Orchestra where NY Times described her as "a classically trained diva that can stretch from Broadway, Pop Soul to Opera." Her wonderful talent and versitality got her nominated for a Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Leading Actress in 3 Mo'Divas. N'Kenge made her West End, London debut starring in The Genius of Ray Charles. Recently, N'Kenge was seen starring in the role of Jazz in an industry reading of Broadway Bound Musical DANGEROUS Helmed by Director/Choreographer Denis Jones. N'Kenge will be starring in the upcoming Off-Broadway Musical DAT'S LOVE. A new musical inspired by the life and music of Legendary Singer/Actress/Dancer Dorothy Dandridge, the first African-American nominated for an Academy Award in the category of "Best Leading Actress" in a major Motion Picture for Carmen Jones. The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, in partnership with the City of Asylum, has created a series of five events in the 2017-18 season that will employ and reflect the expertise and experiences of the artists of these two innovative groups.
