6th Annual PEEPSFEST Celebration Set for 12/30-31

Family fun is in large supply at PEEPSFEST, the annual two-day New Year's Eve festival at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Each year, fans arrive from all over the country to enjoy family-friendly activities and watch the drop of the 4.5-foot tall, 85-pound lit PEEPS Chick at 5:15 p.m. on Dec. 31st to commemorate the beginning of a sweet new year.

Taking place on Dec. 30th and Dec. 31st, some of the newest PEEPSFEST attractions for 2014 include live music by kids rock band, We Kids Rock, at the Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks before the PEEPS Chick drop on Dec. 31st, Lehigh Valley Phantoms hockey shootout with appearances by the Phantoms' mascot meLVin, appearances by Bethlehem Mounted Police Horses Pharoah and Raven on Dec. 31st, and expanded Dutch Springs' kids activities including Rub a Dub Dub-Scuba in a Tub.

"Each year we look forward to celebrating the new year and the fun surrounding our beloved PEEPS brand with families from near and far," said Matt Pye, Just Born Quality Confections Vice President of Corporate Affairs. "We are excited to work with ArtsQuest to continue to make PEEPSFEST the premier New Year's Eve Family celebration."

PEEPSFEST offers PEEPtastic activities for kids of all ages to celebrate 2015 with their families. Fans can cheer on the PEEPS Chick mascot at the Mascot Dash, roast PEEPS s'mores over outdoor fire pits, take a picture beside the PEEPSMOBILE, check out the PEEPS Chick ice sculpture and participate in the popular Dutch Springs' PEEPS spaghetti build. The PEEPS Diorama Competition is back, featuring more than 100 dioramas created by area school children on display at the PBS39 Public Media and Education Center. There will even be a PEEPS scavenger hunt and a "Guess how many PEEPS in the PEEPSMOBILE" contest.

Other PEEPSFEST highlights include:

· Lehigh Valley Zoo animals, including the penguin make appearances on Dec. 31st

· Dutch Springs dog sled presentation on both days

· Photo opportunities with the PEEPS Chick, PBS39 TeleBear and other mascots

· PEEPS crafts and other activities provided by various nonprofit groups

· Musicians and children's performers

· Films in the ArtsQuest cinemas including "How PEEPS are Made" and "Sesame Street New Year's"

· PEEPSFEST 5K, Kids Fun Run and Mascot Dash on Dec. 31st (registration fee required)

· PEEPS & COMPANY store items available for purchase

PEEPSFEST is presented by Just Born Quality Confections and ArtsQuest. Festival hours are Dec. 30th, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Dec. 31st, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Admission is free, although a few select activities, such as the family disco lounge, kids' fun run and PEEPSFEST 5K, require an admission ticket or additional charge.
