Winner of 4 Tony awards, the Hale is proud to present the dramatic true story of Annie Sullivan's struggle to free Helen Keller from her prison of silence and darkness. As The Miracle Worker opens we learn that the Keller’s infant daughter has had a serious fever leaving her not only blind but deaf and mute as well. Unable to communicate young Helen becomes frustrated and violent. It is only through persistence, love, and sheer determination that Annie is able to teach Helen the discipline she needs and the communication skills she must have to survive. You’ll be spell-bound as Annie opens a whole new world to the glorious, triumphant spirit that was Helen Keller.
