One Street Over Project is a community engagement initiative at Mesa Arts Center that culminated in the creation of a 2000-foot mural in the Whitman Neighborhood of Mesa, Arizona. Led by artist Miguel Angel Godoy, the project involved local residents in artistic activities, including collaborative art projects and civic residencies in local schools. Over six months, activities fostered connections among neighbors, culminating in a vibrant mural that reflects the community's diversity and heritage. The project not only celebrated local culture but also aimed to build a sense of ownership and unity among participants.
