National Pastime is a Broadway-bound musical comedy that tells the story of the Baker City Cougars – the greatest baseball team to never exist.
A small Midwestern town and its radio station are down on their luck during the Great Depression. What they need is excitement, so they create it – in the form of a barnstorming baseball team, whose exploits are broadcast daily – from the crack of the bat to the roar of the crowd – the town cheers the team on and soon ratings are soaring.
