The timeless musical that swept the Tony Nominations for Best Musical, Best Author, Best Music and Best Actor and Actress - as well as an Oscar nomination for Best Musical Adaptation - is coming to the Mary Jane Gyder Theater from March 25 - April 17, 2011! STOP THE WORLD I WANT TO GET OFF books, music and lyrics are by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley. This phenomenal musical will not disappoint! Featuring the incredible songs 'Gonna Build a Mountain', 'Once in a Lifetime' and 'What Kind of Fool Am I?' that made Sammy Davis, Jr. even more famous, this show promises to intrigue, enchant, and amaze just as it has done hundreds of times over throughout its magnanimous history! Tickets are on sale now!

Directed by Robyn Allen and Musical Director Steve Hilderbrand and starring Beau Heckman as Littlechap and Athena Hunting as Evie STOP THE WORLD I WANT TO GET OFF is going to shine. It's the story of a man whose search for fame, fortune and romantic exploits result in moments of excruciating and mostly comical discomfort - thus the cry, "Stop the World, I Want to Get Off!" Following Littlechap from cradle to tomb, the author sets the story against a surreal, Cirque de Soliel backdrop, punctuating the notion that his life choices take him to the heights of sensational high wire feats, as well as entering the mouths of hungry lions.

Single tickets, group specials and dinner packages are now on sale! Single tickets may be purchased both online at www.theaterworks.org and at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts. All tickets and specials may be purchased by calling the Box Office at 623.185.7930. The Box Office is open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily.
