Theater Works is proud to announce PUPPET WORKS, a brand new program designed for children 3 years and up.  This puppet theater program will be a wonderful opportunity for young children to experience the performing arts.  Puppet Works debuts with SAVING SANTA, which will premiere on December 4th at 10 a.m.  It's Christmas Eve and when the possibility of the Secret existence of Santa is threatened to be exposed by some meddling kids it's up to a group of clever talking presents to save the day. This fun holiday adventure is full of comic hijinx involving quirky elves, a cookie loving Santa, a Dad who loves Christmas, and other adorable characters. An amusing family show that tries to prove the age old question, "Is Santa really real?"  Tickets are only $6 / person and SAVING SANTA will run until December 24th.  Performances will be on Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. and two special afternoon performances will be held on Saturday, December 24th at  12:30 and 2:30 p.m.

Puppet Works is ideal for children ages 3 and up to enjoy an intimate performance.  The puppets and puppeteers encourage the children to interact and ask questions with a talk back following each performance.  Puppet Works is also willing to work with schools and day care centers to create special performances during the week.  Please contact Chris Hamby, Youth Programs Manager at chamby@theaterworks.org or 623.815.1791 ext. 108 for more information.

The talented puppeteers include Jeremiah Clay Neal, Molly Gittelman and Ruth Sager.  Jeremiah is a local professional playwright and songwriter.  He is the playwright of SAVING SANTA and his published works include U:Bug:Me, a rock musical for family audiences, and The Kid Who Ran for President, based on a book by Dan Gutman.  Molly is a theatre professional that has been working in the valley for the past five years. She has a Bachelor of the Arts with an emphasis in Educational Theatre from University of New Mexico, she also holds a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre for Young Audiences from Arizona State University. She has taught puppetry in a university setting as well as to youth here in the valley.  Ruth is a puppeteer and pleased as pie to be working once again with Theater Works to bring this magical world of puppetry to life. Ruth has been a practicing theatre artist in the Valley for the past six years. She holds a BA in theatrical arts from Arizona State University.

Tickets are now on sale both online at theaterworks.org and at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts.  The Box Office is open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily and may be reached at 623-815-7930.  SAVING SANTA runs December 4th - December 24th, with performances on Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. and afternoon performances on Saturday, December 24th at  12:30 and 2:30 p.m.  Tickets are only $6.00 for adults and children (prices include service and processing fees).  Theater Works is located in the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts (the theater with the copper roof) at 8355 W Peoria Avenue, Peoria.
