New Summer Shorts 10-Minute Play Festival


Program Synopsis: Who writes "short shorts?" WE write short shorts! Join us for a sizzling variety of new 10-minute plays in our fourth annual festival of "shorts" written by Studio members. Packed with drama and comedy, the evocative selections of the 2011 Festival guarantee a "splash" of cool entertainment for all!

A man and woman who meet to discuss Shakespeare's sonnets in a retirement home's garden are confronted by the prospect of separation due to health.

Two strangers, a lot of baggage, and an unsalted slice of lemon meringue pie: The perfect romance.

Sweet William - by Terry Youngren
A lighthearted look at retirement, as a Shakespearean actor finds it difficult to leave the stage.

Former beauty queen Madge has not only aged but fallen on hard times. Her life turns around, however, following her free visit to a "beauty" parlor.

Visiting Hour - by Drea Pruseau
When Sarah learns her mother has been admitted to the emergency room she flies from California to help until confronted by her sharp-tongued Aunt.

About Theatre Artist's Studio: The Studio is a member organization of actors, playwrights, directors, producers and designers founded to provide a place for theatre artists to work at their craft in an atmosphere which fosters mutual growth and collaboration through Studio affiliation. The Studio provides interaction between its members and the community by providing an opportunity to produce innovative projects, mentor emerging talent and establish an educational resource to celebrate the power and imagination of theatre.
