To get everyone jumin' out of their blue suede shoes and excited for the new 2018/2019 season, TheaterWorks presents All Shook Up!
All Shook Up is a musical comedy inspired by Shakespeare's Twelfth Night with a book by Joe DiPietro and featuring the hits of Elvis Presley biggest hits. This classic jukebox musical takes place in 1955 somewhere in middle America, where a town gets a visit from a mysterious stranger. Chad rides in wearing his blue suede shoes, leather jacket, with a guitar on his back ready to help the town discover the magic of romance, the power of rock & roll, and falls in love with a spunky small town girl along the way. The toe taping score includes classics like "Heartbreak Hotel," "Love Me Tender," "Don't Be Cruel," and "Can't Help Falling in Love."
Making his TheaterWorks directorial debut is Valley favorite David Chorley, who was previously seen on the Gyder stage in Noises Off. "TheaterWorks has been amazing to work with" he says. " A team of highly experienced designers was chosen to work on this show and I am extremely proud of this show and the dedicated performers I have in it."
The cast, led by Vinnie Chavez, Brenna Jackson, Nathan Taylor, and Fay Schneider, also features an ensemble comprised of some of the Valley's most talented performers. Musical Direction has been provided by Ken Goodenberger with choreography by Natalie Vasquez.
All Shook Up will play on the Gyder stage at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts (10580 N. 83rd Drive Peoria, AZ 85345) September 7-23, 2018. Single tickets are $16-$38.
