Theater Works has announced that they have been nominated for 52 ariZoni awards for the 2010 - 2011 season. Nominees include Best Original Script (Play), Best Actress and Actor (Play and Musical), Best Overall Production (Play and Musical) and 4 Best Overall Productions for Youth (Play). Robyn Allen, Artistic Director, states "Individual nods come and go but when you receive an overall production nomination it says that the whole team is working hard at a common goal of providing a great experience for the audience. That is something to be proud of". Congratulations to all of the nominees for a job well done!
Theater Works invites you to come see our award winning productions as our 26th season opens on August 19th with Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Passion, forbidden love, sword fights ... Shakespeare's "sexiest play" has it all. Romeo & Juliet is back in the West Valley after 20 years with a fresh and exciting production!
The ariZoni Theatre Awards is devoted to promoting the visibility and growth of theatre in Maricopa County. Each year at its annual awards ceremony, the Board bestows an outstanding contribution award and a distinguished service award to deserving individuals or organizations for their contributions to theatre. Most importantly, after completion of an exhaustive judging process, (involving close to 100 Adjudicators) awards of excellence are presented to those individuals who have excelled in performance and production during the just-completed season. These awards represent true celebrations of excellence in theatre.
