The Tale of the Allergist's Wife revolves around an aspiring intellectual and middle-aged upper class matron Marjorie Taub, the wife of a philanthropic allergist, is engulfed in a life crisis. Her children are grown, her beloved therapist died recently and her mother grates on her nerves. She tries to lose herself in a world of art galleries, foreign films and avant guard theater, but finds she is barely able to rouse herself from her sofa.
Her spirits suddenly soar when a fascinating and incredibly worldly friend from her childhood appears on her doorstep. Lee the Savior who infuses Marjorie with life becomes Lee the Unwelcome and Sinister guest in short order, drawing Marjorie out of her dark mood, but affecting her marriage as well.

Founded in 1971, TLT is Tempe's only non-profit, all volunteer theatrical Production Company. TLT is "theater of, for, and by the community." It was founded by people who love live theater in order to offer the community a low-cost, alternative cultural venue for education and entertainment.
TLT has traditionally produced four plays each year - one representing each genre - drama, comedy, musical and mystery. Over the last few years, the focus has been on classic comedies and popular musicals in order to build an audience base. TLT serves to deliver the excitement of affordable, quality live theater to all residents of the East Valley and the metropolitan Phoenix Area. TLT provides the entire community (and its local high schools, community colleges, and adjacent Arizona State University) with an appropriate educational venue for specialized, concentrated work by all students of the theatrical arts.
