Space 55 Theatre Ensemble is proud to present Summertime 7 - seven plays by Arizona writers. This collection of shorts, competitively selected from over 40 submissions, showcases the voice of Arizona writers.
"We have something for everyone," shares Artistic Director John Perovich. "From the gender politics of salmon, to a medieval execution...a surprising meeting at a diner, to a contentious conversation at a kitchen table. We're thrilled to bring over 30 artists together to produce this eclectic and entertaining show for our audience."
The featured plays in Summertime 7 include: How to Quit Writing (for the Theatre) by Joe Bardin; Upstream by Monica Bauer; The Cellist by Ilana Lydia; Birthday Boy by Devon Mahon; The Lord's Mercy by Ashley Naftule; Wandering, Whistling by Alex Tuchi; It's Just a Movie by Forrest Vincent.
"We're excited to welcome audiences to our unique space and to experience these seven dynamic stories," says Perovich. "We have big plans in the works for our upcoming 13th season. We'll be announcing those plans on opening night of Summertime 7."
