SMTC has announced their next production, the tap dancing musical sensation Thoroughly Modern Millie. Performances will take place at the intimate 300-seat Dorrance Auditorium on the beautiful campus at Phoenix Country Day School in Paradise Valley. All SMTC shows feature the best local talent in the valley and a live orchestra.

Show dates are:
- Thursday, May 9th @ 7:30PM
- Friday, May 10th @ 8:00PM
- Saturday, May 11th @ 8:00PM
- Sunday, April 12th @ 2:00PM

The cast will feature the extraordinary Michele Kahn (N.Y., national and international tours) in the starring role of Millie Dillmount, 4 time AriZoni Award-winner Matt Newhard as Jimmy Smith, Jennifer Alexander as Miss Dorothy, Matthew Harris as Trevor Graydon and Savannah Jones as Muzzy Van Hosmere. The ensemble consists of incredible talent as well - featuring both a singing and dancing chorus, a long-gone Great White Way tradition brought back to life for an ultimate Broadway experience.

In a casting twist reminiscent of Harvey Fierstein in Hairspray, "MadTV's" Paul Vogt as "Ursula" in The Little Mermaid and a touch of La Cage aux Folles, NYC vocalist, multi-award winner and AriZoni nominee Hector Coris will portray the wicked villainess, Mrs. Meers.

Winner of 6 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Choreography, and based on the 1967 film starring Julie Andrews, Mary Tyler Moore and Carol Channing, the musical Millie features music by Janine Tesori, lyrics by Dick Scanlan and a book by Richard Morris and Scanlan. Millie will be directed by SMTC executive producer and theater veteran, David Hock, with long time valley musical director Christie McKibben on board. Janelle Paris will be choreographing and the 21-piece orchestra will be conducted by Adam Stich, Artistic Director of ProMusica Arizona and Director of Music at SCC.
