Scottsdale Musical Theater Company is honored to continue its support of military personnel by donating 500 free tickets to the Vet Tix program for its upcoming production of the classic Lerner & Loewe musical My Fair Lady August 18 - 21, 2016 at the Tempe Center for the Arts (700 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe AZ).
My Fair Lady is one of the most beloved classics of Broadway musicals. When the pompous Henry Higgins takes a bet to transform Cockney flower-girl Eliza Doolittle into a proper English society lady, he soon discovers he's taken on much more than a parlor-room challenge. Featuring classic songs like "I Could Have Danced All Night", "The Rain in Spain", "Wouldn't It Be Loverly" and "On the Street Where You Live", My Fair Lady is Broadway royalty at its finest.
In the last 6 years, SMTC has donated over 7,500 free tickets to active and retired service members and their families through the Veterans Ticket Foundation. These tickets are eagerly used by our brave men and women to enjoy a night out at the theater at no cost to them. Their unbridled enthusiasm for SMTC shows is indeed part of the fuel that feeds the musicals presented by this fast-growing theater company. And Tempe Center for the Arts provides an incredible venue to enhance their experience.
Vet Tix provides tickets to events which reduce stress, strengthen family bonds, build life-long memories and encourage service members and veterans to stay engaged with local communities and American life. Vet Tix supports our troops by honoring their service and providing positive family and life experiences, during and after their years of service to our country. Vet Tix provides tickets to all branches of currently-serving Military and Veterans, including immediate family of troops KIA.
Regular tickets to the general public are now on sale ranging from $33-$42 and can be purchased atwww.ScottsdaleMusicalTheater.com or by calling (602) 909-4215. Group rates are also available.
Now in its 6th year, SMTC prides itself on "bringing Broadway's favorites back to life", presenting full, large-scale productions of Broadway musicals in their original versions, as they were meant to be seen. Utilizing professional sets and costumes, great local talent and a full live 20+ piece orchestra for every show, SMTC has been called "the best theatre company in the Valley when it comes to producing classic musicals."
