The most recorded bassist in history, the legendary RON CARTER and his GOLDEN STRIKER TRIO come to The Nash May 13th for two shows at 7:00 pm and 9:15 pm. The Nash is located at 110 E Roosevelt, Phoenix AZ 85004.

Tickets for RON CARTER AND THE GOLDEN STRIKER TRIO range from $20-$250 and are on sale at www.thenash.org or by calling 602-795-0464. EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT! Order before April 30th for 10% off tickets!

The most well-known and beloved bassist, particularly due to his tenure with the MiLes Davis Quintet, Ron Carter is a dedicated musician, master interpreter and eloquent soloist. THE GOLDEN STRIKER TRIO features sensational Nicaraguan-born pianist DONALD VEGA and stellar guitarist Russell Malone with RON CARTER on bass.

The Nash's namesake, drummer Lewis Nash, will serve as host of the evening and make a guest appearance with the trio. Ron Carter turns 80 on May 4th and this engagement at The Nash will be a continuation of his birthday celebration.

Prior to the 7 pm show, Lewis Nash Leadership Circle Donors are invited to attend an exclusive book signing with Ron Carter who will sign copies of his authorized biography, Ron Carter: Finding the Right Notes, by Dan Ouellette. Visit www.thenash.org/support to learn how to join the Lewis Nash Leadership Circle.

About Ron Carter & Golden Striker Trio
MiLes Davis referred to Carter as "Checkpoint Charlie," and first introduced him, along with Herbie Hancock and Tony Williams during his recording sessions in the early 60s. Carter has since become the most recorded bassist in history with 2,221 recording credits, verified by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2015.

A drummerless trio, "Golden Striker needs no drummer to swing. On pieces like the bassist's own 25-year-old composition "N.Y. Slick," he generates a unique momentum that is a Ron Carter signature: headlong, yet measured." (Jazz Times).

As Carter says, "I think that the bassist is the quarterback in any group, and he must find a sound that he is willing to be responsible for."
