Arizona legends come alive tonight and tomorrow, Oct. 25-26 at the Prescott Center for the Arts during Ghost Talk 2013, one of the featured events during Prescott's Weekend of the Dead. Famous and infamous spirits enact historic ghostly folklore at 6 pm and 7:30 pm each evening, plus a 9 pm encore performance that Saturday, at the PCA Theatre at 208 N. Marina Street in downtown Prescott. Get a sneak peek at the show below!

The annual fundraiser features a different version of the show each year so even Ghost Talk regulars are treated to new thrills and chills. Ghost Talk 2013 includes these 12 spooky tales The Phantom of the Elks Opera House, The Eerie Demise of the Cowboy King, The Prescott Pioneer and the UFO, The Hassayampa Inn Apparition, The Dynamite Demon of Whiskey Row, The Infamous Palace Saloon Fire, The Snakes On A Plain Killing, The Ft. Whipple Slasher, The Haunting Death of Bucky O'Neill, The Mystery of the Smoki Museum Spirits, The Saga of the Poisonous Brew Deaths, and The Gothic Ghosts of Marina Street.

Patrons are greeted with spectral entertainment in the courtyard and can view The Day of the Dead Art Exhibit down in the PCA Gallery before or after the show. Inside the haunted theatre, goblins, ghouls, and ghosts enact their spooky tales through the magic of Live Theatre.

According to Ghost Talk 2013 Playwright and Director Karen Murphy, "Ghost Talk is not only a nod to Arizona's past but an ode to drama's history. The ghostly folklore is presented through a blend of modern performance art, traditional storytelling, and theatrical genres from throughout the ages such as Greek tragedies, Victorian melodramas, Shakespearean prose, cowboy poetry, vaudeville, monologues, and musicals. We pretty much throw everything, including the kitchen sink, at the audience to bring these stories and ghostly visions alive. And we use all the tricks of the trade in the process such as special effects, fog machines, eerie lighting, shadow play, stylized make-up and masks, and period props and costumes to turn the PCA Theatre into a haunted crypt."

New to this year's event is the addition of the 9 pm show since performances were selling out last year, and a costume contest before that encore performance that will feature prizes for the audience choice winners. Another addition is the partnership with the PCA Gallery that is hosting an annual Day of the Dead Exhibit that is open to the public. The Ghost Talkraffle features jean jackets with Day of the Dead designs by local artists since Ghost Talk 2013 and the Day of the Dead Exhibitare designated events during Prescott'sWeekend of the Dead Oct. 25-27. Other Weekend of the Dead activities in Prescott are the Dia De Los Muertos Festival at the Smoki Museum and the Cemetery Walk at Citizen's Cemetery.

All proceeds benefit youth programs at the Prescott Center for the Arts and the West Yavapai Guidance Clinic, the two nonprofits that sponsor Ghost Talk each year.

Warning! Ghost Talk is not for the weak or faint of heart, and could be too intense for children under seven. No cry babies, whiners, or yellow-bellied scaredy-cats are allowed. For tickets and information about Ghost Talk 2013, go online at www.pca-az.net, or call 928-445-3286.
