The Phoenix Theatre for Children, a non-profit Columbus theatre company specializing in family entertainment, has announced two musical theatre intensives for youth to be held this summer at the Riffe Center (77 S. High St.).
The intensives are focused, personalized training for young people aged 10-18 interested in pursuing and honing their skills in musical theatre. Each intensive is a full-day, two-week course in various styles of dance, acting methods, and vocal training.
"The intensives offer specialized, constructive training and critiques for kids with a passion for musical theatre," stated Phoenix Artistic Director Steven C. Anderson. "The skills teens learn prove invaluable when they move on to college-level productions, while the younger students obtain the skills and confidence needed to prepare for auditions."
All musical theatre intensives students must complete a placement audition to determine their level of experience. Placement auditions will be held at the Riffe Center on Saturday, May 9, beginning at 10am, and Wednesday, May 13, beginning at 6:30pm.
