Join the Phoenix Boys Choir for a night of music from the Magic Kingdom! Mousketeers of all ages will want to 'give a little whistle' for "The Happiest Songs on Earth," when the Phoenix Boys Choir presents The Walt Disney Company's best-loved tunes.
The performance will be held May 7 at 7 pm at the Mesa Performing Arts Center at Mesa Community College. Tickets are $28/$23 and $18 for seniors and kids 12 and under. Tickets are available at www.phoenixboyschoir.org or by calling (602) 264-5328.
Since the film Pinocchio won Disney its first Academy Awards for "Best Original Score" and "Best Original Song" in 1940, the House of Mouse has been making timeless music that families love, winning awards and accolades all along the way. "The Happiest Songs on Earth" brings together both old and new favorites, as the young voices from The Phoenix Boys Choir evoke the southern charm of "Zip-a-dee Doo Dah" and the endearing entreaty of Mary Poppins to "Feed the Birds," to the chill-inducing thrill of Disney's newest blockbuster Frozen, asking "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" "Disney's award-winning numbers are without a doubt some of the most memorable songs of childhood wonder and joy ever written," says Phoenix Boys Choir Artistic Director Georg Stangelberger. "From the journey from 'Under the Sea' with The Little Mermaid to the heart of the African savanna with The Lion King, and Elton John's vibrant songs 'Hakuna Matata' and 'Circle of Life,' we look forward to sharing these musical adventures with audiences."
