The Phoenix Boys Choir announces the appointment of Oleg Shvets to the Executive Director position beginning April 4th. Mr. Shvets was chosen as the ideal person to lead the Choir after an extensive search was conducted. "Oleg Shvets is a wonderful addition to the Phoenix Boys Choir team. His combination of experience, leadership and enthusiasm will take us to new heights," says Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Jae Christensen.

Oleg Shvets has significant expertise in marketing, development, administration and he is a proven leader. He has a passion for developing youth and spent 17 years as the Arizona DECA Executive Director. During his tenure at Arizona DECA, Mr. Shvets improved the financial stability of the organization and increased membership from 2,400 students to 8,600.

Artistic Director, Georg Stangelberger stated, "I'm so excited to be working with someone who is so passionate about children's education and has had so much experience in this field. Mr. Shvets also comes to us at an ideal time to prepare for the choir's 70th anniversary next year!"

The Phoenix Boys Choir is nearing the end of their current season and their annual Pops concert, "The Happiest Songs on Earth" will be held on Saturday May 7th at Mesa Performing Arts Center - Mesa Community College. The Choir's Free Thursday Concert Series, "Songs For Our Heroes" has two remaining performances, April 21st and May 19th. For more details, visit www.phoenixboyschoir.org or call (602) 264-5328.
