Theater Works at Peoria Center for the Performing Arts is proud to present a holiday puppet show that is perfect for all ages. Elf Initiation & Saving Santa opens in the Gyder Theater on December 1, 2012 and runs through December 22, 2012. Directed by Chris Hamby, the shows were written by Jeremiah Clay Neal featuring puppets designed by Cari Smith.

Saving Santa returns to Theater Works for its third season with a special added bonus, Elf Initiation! This dual show incorporates many types of puppetry, including hand and rod (Muppet style), shadow puppets and traditional sock puppets.

Elf Initiation is the adventurous prequel to Saving Santa. It tells the story of two elves who must find the Abominable Snow Man to fix Santa's toy-making machine. In order to save Christmas from ruin, Kelly and Joji must conquer the Candy Cane Forest, retrieve the Super-Sonic Ice Crystals and get them back to Santa's workshop.

Saving Santa continues with the age old question, "Is Santa real?" On Christmas Eve the secret existence of Santa is threatened to be exposed by some meddling kids. It's up to a group of clever talking presents to save the day.

These fun holiday adventures are full of comic hijinx involving quirky elves, a cookie loving Santa, a dad who loves Christmas, and other adorable characters.

The show runs from December 1 through December 22. Tickets are $6. The Peoria Center for the Performing Arts is located at 8355 West Peoria Avenue in Peoria, Arizona. For tickets, call 623-815-7930 or visit www.theaterworks.org.

Theater Works, the resident theatre company at Peoria Center for the Performing Arts, resides in the heart of old-town Peoria, Arizona.
