Menopause: The Musical is the work of writer Jeanie Linders and finds four women who meet by chance in the lingerie section of a department store. The uplifting 90-minute production includes parodies from the '60s, '70s, and '80s and the all-female cast makes fun of their hot flashes, forgetfulness, mood swings, wrinkles, night sweats, and chocolate binges. A sisterhood is created between these four diverse women as they realize that they are not alone in experiencing "the change" that all women silently endure. As these four characters bond so do the women in the audience as they look around them and see the similarities in what they are going through.
Menopause: The Musical has entertained and moved audiences in more than 450 U.S. cities, in a total of 15 different countries, and more than 300 international cities. Internationally, the show has been performed Australia, Canada, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. The musical is recognized for its ability to encourage honest and healthy dialogue about issues with aging and women's health. Though geared towards women, this funny take on living life in the later years is sure to entertain all kinds.
