Lace up your roller skates and join several of the Valley's premier teen bands for Alice Cooper's Solid Rock "School's Out For Summer Rock and Skate" 6-10 p.m. July 31 at Mesa's Skateland, 7 E. Southern Ave.

Bands will include Audio Invasion, Run 2 Cover, Jimmy Legs, Saving Shea, The Kards, and Irie. Cooper will make a special appearance.

There will also be raffle items, including two roundtrip Southwest Airlines tickets, a Fender guitar, a Tourneau BMW watch and many more.

Admission is $10 at the door, which includes skate rentals (inline skates are an additional $3). All proceeds will benefit Alice Cooper's Solid Rock, a Christian 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Chuck Savale and Cooper.

As long-time residents of Arizona and devoted fathers, Alice Cooper and Chuck Savale understand firsthand how desperately Valley communities must address the needs of its teenagers. The two shared their dream while playing 18 holes of golf, a favorite pastime of theirs. Together, they envisioned a Christian organization solely dedicated to helping these teens. In November of 1995, Solid Rock was founded and the dream became a reality.
