John Doran, David Groff Elected to Actors Theatre Board

John Doran, an attorney with Greenberg Traurig, LLP, and David Groff, President, Westgate Sports and Entertainment, have been elected to The Actors Theatre Board of Directors.
Doran and Groff will each serve three-year terms.

The Board of Directors also has elected officers for 2010-11, the theatre company's 25th anniversary season. Officers are:
• President, George M. Cohen, Paradise Valley;
• President-Elect, Oonagh Boppart, Paradise Valley;
• Vice President, Phyllis Stern, Paradise Valley;
• Secretary, Stephen Richman, Phoenix.

New board member Doran focuses his law practice in the areas of labor and employment, appellate and litigation. He is listed in Best Lawyers in America and Chambers USA for labor and employment and has been recognized by his peers as one of the "Top 50 Super Lawyers" in Arizona. He lives in Paradise Valley.

Groff, a Phoenix resident, recently served on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Phoenix and is an Honorary Commander at Luke Air Force Base. He is the former Senior Vice President for Sales for the Phoenix Coyotes and served as manager for the Phoenix Suns and coordinator for the Chicago Bulls.

Actors Theatre will open its 25th season on Oct. 29 with Tony Award nominee In the Next Room (Or The Vibrator Play), which will run through Nov. 14.

The company will end its 19-year run of A Christmas Carol with performances Dec. 4-24.
Ron May will direct This from Jan. 21-Feb. 6, Playwright and comic Josh Kornbluth will perform his show Andy Warhol: Good for the Jews? from March 4-20. The season will close with Circle Mirror Transformation, Annie Baker's 2010 OBIE-Award winner for Best New American Play, from April 22 to May 8.
