Insert Theatre Company Here (ITCH), a New Theatre Company based in Tempe, is proud to announce its inaugural production, the world premiere of Evan Guilford-Blake's comedy Mountain Greenery, a play about the relationships that evolve between a very corporate lawyer, an artist and -- well, a bear.
Mountain Greenery is an 85-minute look at the pressures of life in contemporary America, finding oneself in the unfamiliar environment of the "natural" world -- and life as a bear. It's family-friendly and recommended for ages 16 and older. ITCH's production stars the company's co-artistic director Sean Ryan McBride, Heather Barton and JC Partida. It's directed by ITCH co-AD Colton Robertson.
The play was the winner of the 2014 North Carolina New Play Competition, and a finalist in both the 2014 Sea Change Theater and 2012 WhatIf? Productions new play contests.
ITCH's production opens Saturday, September 24th and runs through October 2nd, with shows at 8:00 p.m. Friday and Saturdays, and Sundays at 2 p.m. On Sunday, September 25th, the playwright will be in attendance and there will be a post-show Q&A with the audience. In addition, on Saturday, the 24th, Mr. Guilford-Blake will present a workshop on adapting plays to prose and prose to play. For information on Mr. Guilford-Blake's workshop, please send an email to email@itchtheatre.com.
ITCH is performing in The Phoenix Center for the Arts, 1202 North 3rd Street. Tickets for all performances are $15 and will be available at the door or online at www.ticketleap.com/itchtheatre. Cash and all major credit cards are accepted.
