Herberger Theater Hosts Blood Drive; Provides Free Tickets To SWEENEY TODD To Blood Drive Donors ImageThe Herberger Theater Center (HTC) will host a community blood drive on September 10, 2018, 10am-2pm, inside the Center Stage Lobby as part of a promotional campaign for Sweeney Todd, the upcoming co-production with Arizona Broadway Theatre (ABT). Blood donors will be provided with a voucher for one free ticket to Sweeney Todd, An American in Paris, or The Addams Family. Donors should enter through the HTC Box Office located at 222 East Monroe Street in Phoenix. Tony Edgerton, the lead of Sweeney Todd, will be making an appearance in costume during the blood drive.

"As a non-profit organization, our goal is always to give back to the community," said Mark Mettes, CEO & President of HTC. "What better way to promote a show like this than with a blood drive that can benefit local hospitals? Everyone who gives their own blood for the cause can be our guest for this iconic musical production of Sweeney Todd that is sure to get your blood pumping!"

The need for blood locally remains constant, and donations are needed to offset summer blood shortages. Donors are encouraged to eat a meal prior to giving blood and drink plenty of water. Photo ID is required at donation time. All 16- and 17-year-olds must have parent or guardian permission to donate. All donors must pass the vital signs and health history examinations given prior to donation. Interested donors can contact the Herberger Theater at 602.254.7399.

The Herberger Theater Center is a 501(c)(3) Arizona non-profit organization that supports and fosters growth of the arts in Phoenix as the premier performance venue, arts incubator and advocate. Opened in 1989 and fully renovated in 2010, the Herberger Theater offers three theater venues, art gallery, plaza and rentable event space for a variety of community uses. The Herberger Theater hosts a diverse range of dramatic, dance and musical performances; is home to local theater and dance companies; its gallery provides a venue for Arizona artists to present their works; and a plaza that hosts civic and arts events. Proceeds from annual fundraising benefits its Youth Outreach Programs, designed to give Arizona children (ages 3-19) opportunities to excel, learn and heal through experience with the arts. Over the last 29 years, 4.2 million patrons have enjoyed more than 15,000 performances at the Herberger Theater. HerbergerTheater.org
