An enduring story of hope, romance, and love in a city rebuilding from the heartbreak of World War II, An American in Paris is the Broadway musical adaptation of the Academy Award-winning film featuring some of George and Ira Gershwin's most beloved music including I Got Rhythm, The Man I Love and They Can't Take That Away from Me.
Herberger Theater Center (HTC) and Arizona Broadway Theatre (ABT) continue their uniquely successful partnership as co-presenters of the Broadway at The Herberger Series at HTC with An American in Paris March 8 24. Past co-productions include A Christmas Carol, Beauty and The Beast, Mary Poppins, and most recently, Sweeney Todd this past September.
It goes without saying that we've been overwhelmed by the positive response from the theatre-going public to our co-presented productions at HTC over the past two years, said Kiel Klaphake, Executive Producer at ABT. Having an entirely new audience experience the ABT brand of Broadway-style musical theatre entertainment on Center Stage at Herberger Theater Center is both thrilling and rewarding. We could not be more excited about continuing this partnership far into the future.
Arizona Broadway Theatre was named a Resident Company at HTC in 2018 joining Arizona Theatre Company, iTheatre Collaborative, Center Dance Ensemble, Childsplay and Arizona Opera as one of HTC's six Resident Companies.

The cast includes New York based actors and Valley newcomers Andrew Ruggieri and Rebecca Shulla as the star-crossed lovers, Jerry Mulligan and Lise Dassin. Also new to ABT and HTC are Matthew Blum (Mr. Z.) and Ensemble members Emma Bartolomucci, Alyssa Ishihara, Scotty Jacobson, Megan Schwartz, Daniel Stanley, and Emily Stys.
Returning to the Valley of the Sun are ABT alums Michael Brennan (Titanic) as Henri Baurel, Michael O'Brien (Sweeney Todd (HTC), A Christmas Carol (HTC), Man of La Mancha, Carousel, Les Mis) as Adam Hochberg, Beatrice Crosbie (Mary Poppins (HTC)) as Milo Davenport, Carolyn McPhee (Titanic, Catch Me If You Can, The Bridges of Madison County, Hands on a Hardbody) as Madame Baurel, Christopher Cody Cooley (Titanic, Catch Me If You Can, Show Boat) as Monsieur Baurel, Laurie Trygg (A Christmas Carol, Legally Blonde, The Little Mermaid, Sweet Charity, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Odd Couple) as Olga.
Filling out the Ensemble are Lauren Alagna (Catch Me If You Can), Evan Dolan (Miracle on 34th Street, A Christmas Carol), James Du Chateau (Catch Me If You Can), Sebastian Goldberg (Catch Me If You Can), Lauren Paley (Show Boat, A Christmas Carol, Beauty and the Beast (HTC), Charles Pang (Catch Me If You Can), and Kara Ziringer (Miracle on 34th Street, Sweeney Todd (HTC), Mary Poppins (HTC) Show Boat, A Christmas Carol (HTC)).
An American in Paris transfers to HTC following a four-week run at ABT's Peoria location Jan 25 March 1. Upcoming Broadway at The Herberger co-productions include The Addams Family, July 12 28, and Sister Act, Aug 30 Sept 15. Three all-new shows coming as part of the Broadway at The Herberger Series were announced February 4.
