Herberger Theater Center and Arizona Broadway Theatre today announced the opportunity for 200 young aspiring dancers from dance studios around the Valley to attend for free the Sunday, March 10 and 17 matinee performances of An American in Paris and participate in a 20-minute post-show talk-back with select cast members from the show following each performance.

Students will have the opportunity to ask the cast of 23 professional actor/singer/dancers - many of whom began their training at a young age in dance studios around the country - questions about their own personal performance journeys.

"With shows like 'So You Think You Can Dance,' 'Dancing with The Stars' and, most recently, 'World of Dance' topping the television ratings over the past several years, there has been a growing interest in dance among a younger generation," said Kurtis Overby, Director and Choreographer of An American in Paris. "With a show like this, where so much of the story is told through movement and dance, we could not think of a better opportunity for the cast to share their personal experiences and reflections with aspiring dancers from around the Valley of the Sun!"

The cast of An American in Paris cast consists mostly of New York-based musical theatre professionals cast from Arizona Broadway Theatre's bi-annual auditions in New York City along with a handful cast from local auditions here in the Valley of the Sun.

Herberger Theater Center and Arizona Broadway Theatre are committed to providing young aspiring artists access to the arts in our community. This type of outreach we will continue to inspire participation in the performing arts, building a foundation for future performing artists and arts patrons alike.

An American in Paris is the 2015 Tony Award-winning Broadway musical adaptation of the 1951 Academy Award-winning film of the same name and is co-presented by Herberger Theater Center and Arizona Broadway Theatre as part of the Broadway at The Herberger series.

More information about the March 10 and 17 talk-back dates and upcoming Broadway at The Herberger productions can be found online at herbergertheater.org or by calling the HTC Box Office at 602-252-8497.
