Goldenstein Gallery celebrated Artists in Residence at L'Auberge de Sedona celebrates its 3rd anniversary at the renowned resort on Oak Creek. The public and hotel guests have been treated to a diverse range of artists painting and sculpting on property as well as changing exhibitions of paintings and an outdoor sculpture garden of life size and monumental sculpture.
Entering their 18th year, Goldenstein Gallery's owner Linda Goldenstein has consistently championed opportunities to create a life enhancing experience...bringing artist and collector together. To Goldenstein the spirit of collaboration connects everything from the experience that artists and collectors have to the gallery's reach throughout Sedona.
Their innovative Artists in Residence program has also hosted several special events including the creation of a sacred Tibetan Sand Mandala onsite complete with daily guided meditations by renowned artist and teacher Sherab Khandro and a special "Every Day Peace" event during the United Nations International Day of Peace featuring the Khandro's Wheel of Compassion.
Guests are treated to wide variety of artwork being created ranging from clay and wax sculpting for bronze casting to pointillist painting. Both visiting and local artists participate, each with a unique creative voice. Visitors interact with the artists, ask questions about their work and preferred art medium and walk away inspired. In the past three years over 150 artists have participated in the acclaimed program including Plein Air artists Michael Chesley Johnson and Syri Hall, mixed media artist Marilyn Bos, pointillist painter Sherab Khandro, wildlife painters Jourdan Dern and Patricia Griffin and sculptors Kevin McCarthy, Reagan Word and Mike Medow.
Located a short stroll away from the gallery the public is able to enjoy diverse public art exhibits located throughout the renowned resort. A visual feast with 14 stops including monumental sculpture, reclaimed metal Bells and Peace Garden, the "Large Scale in the Lodge at L'Auberge painting exhibit" and more, there is something to delight everyone. Visitors can stop by the Gallery or L'Auberge to obtain an Art Map to guide them along the stunning exhibits throughout the resort.
Although Linda and the Gallery have worked with hundreds of artists including respected museums & community exhibitions, the award winning gallery now focuses on 50 fine local and regional artists.
