ASU Gammage has capped their record breaking week of THE BOOK OF MORMON by announcing a second visit by the show in May 2017. Tickets go on sale Monday, November 9th. That's an eighteen month head start for a show that just grossed more than $2 million in the first six days of its inaugural trip to Arizona.
That kind of box office success is nothing new for the blockbuster musical comedy. It has broken house records in 47 other locations, including Broadway's Eugene O'Neill Theater. Even without the swollen anticipation from the well-noted delay in bringing it to Gammage, Tempe was certain to be added to the list of cities in its wake. Audiences have stepped up their attendance to Rated 'R' musicals in a market that would never have embraced THE BOOK OF MORMON ten years ago. It is playing without controversy where the strongest supporters of musical theatre once favored the most conservative material.
The current run ends November 8th and tickets are only available through third party sellers or by lottery preceding each performance.
Dates for the 2017 engagement are May 18th - 28th. Tickets are available 10 AM, November 9th at asugammage.com or 1-800-982-2787
