Good Lovelies grace the stage with their sassy, sunny, and upbeat music and banter tonight, Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Nesbitt/Elliott Playhouse. They have brought new life to folk music since their debut in 2006 with their three-part harmonies, constant instrument swapping, and witty on-stage repartee. Tickets are available through the Mesa Arts Center Box Office at MesaArtsCenter.com or by calling 480-644-6500.

From their first concert in Toronto's Gladstone Hotel, the Good Lovelies have charmed their way into the folk music scene with their positive attitudes and quirky music. The three members of the trio are Caroline Brooks, Kerri Ough, and Sue Passmore and they've toured through Canada, Australia, America, and even across the pond to the U.K. The Good Lovelies respect and admiration for each other have helped them weather the tours together with good spirits. It is a true mystery how the three of them originally found each other and bonded. Caroline Brooks claims they met at a chess tournament while Sue says they met during a limbo competition and Kerri swears they connected during a bar fight. Whatever the true story may be, this dynamic trio has made quite an impact on folk music. Good Lovelies have toured with Stuart McLean and the Vinyl Café and have appeared on stage and in studios with Broken Social Scene, Kathleen Edwards, and Jill Barber.

Good Lovelies discography from 2006 to 2011 includes the albums OH MY!, Good Lovelies, Under the Mistletoe, Let the Rain Fall. With their self-titled album, Good Lovelies won New Emerging Artist at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. This same album also received a Juno for Roots/Traditional Album of the Year in 2010.
