Fountain Hills Community Theater is proud to announce the opening show of its 2010-11 Mainstage Season -  the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical , Carousel.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel, based on a story by Ferenc Molnar, takes place between 1873 and 1888 in a small New England fishing village. The tale revolves around a love affair between Billy Bigelow, a travelling carnival man, and Julie Jordan, a local factory worker. Desperate for money after learning that he is soon to become a father, Billy is killed during an attempted robbery. Several years later, when he is allowed to return to earth for a short time, he seeks out the daughter of his union with Julie.

Carousel is produced by Patty Torrilhon and Linda Ferington and directed by Peter J. Hill. The show is choreographed by Noel Irick and musically directed by Flora Mogerman.  Carousel features Skye Ayers, Marty Berger, Skylar Bickley, Rebecca Duckworth, Bob Feugate, Carolyn Folks, Amy Ford, Sophie Gaardsmoe, Sandy Gulledge, Kellen Hunt, Patty Justice, Leah Klein, Nika Korchok, Sonya Krueger, Scott McKown, Jason Lee McDonald, Mason Morton, Sean Owen, Roger Prenger, Erin Ryan, Patrick Russo, Tanya Schoenwolf, Doug Simmons, Caroline Turnage, Debbie Vinopal and Tom Vinopal.

 Carousel will play Sept 17 - Oct. 3, 2010.  Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 2PM.  A reception will be held on Opening night for all those attending that evening, featuring free appetizers, wine and soft drinks. Individual tickets are $25.00 for Adults and $20.00 for children 17 and under. Seniors receive a $5.00 discount on all Thursday performances. Group rates and student rush discounts are available. A "Pay What You Can" matinee performance will be held Saturday, Sept. 25th at 2PM. Ticket price for this performance is on a donation-basis, no money will be collected. To be guaranteed seating for this special performance please call the Box Office, walk-ins will be seated subject to availability. 

 All performances are at Fountain Hills Community Theater on its Mainstage at 11445 N. Saguaro Blvd. (The Corner of Saguaro and Rand). Tickets are available through the Theater Box Office at (480) 837-9661 x3.  Box Office Hours are 10:00 AM-5:00 PM Tuesday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased at www.fhct.org.
