On Saturday, December 2nd, 2017, the Tango concert will celebrate the Centennial of the world's most famous Tango, "La Cumparsita," written by Uruguayan composer Gerardo Matos Rodríguez.
The concert will be held at Czech Center Museum Houston and will feature Fernando Pirez, a Tango Music Award Winner of Aurea 2015, 2016, 2017 & distinguished for his music program "3 Canciones" with the Gaucho Prize. Furthermore, he is a radio show creator of "Puerto Tango" in Maldonado as well as "Habemus Tango" People 107.1 FM.
The Uruguayan government has officially declared 2017 as the year to celebrate the "Centennial of La Cumparsita." For this cultural exchange initiative, the Uruguayan musicians will present with the young dance performers the intricate techniques of the most beautiful Tango pieces from the 20th century.
