Morgan/Foster Entertainment presents the second Miss Gay Melrose America (MGMA) preliminary pageant, to be held at Stacy's @ Melrose, March 2, 2019. It is one of seven Arizona-based preliminary pageants sanctioned by the Miss Gay America pageant and is the first to be held in Phoenix's iconic and historic Woodlea Melrose neighborhood. Stacy's @ Melrose is located at 4343 North 7th Avenue. All fundraising efforts for the pageant are donated to RipplePHX, a back-to-grass-roots project created for our LGBTQ Community to address today's HIV virus through impact-focused splashes of awareness, love, and celebrations of individual sexual expression.
"We exceeded all expectations with last year's inaugural event," said Executive Director of Morgan/Foster Entertainment, Morgan Pearce. "This year, we've pulled out all the stops to bring as many jaw-dropping, spectacular elements together as we could. With wonderfully inclusive sponsors, including Bud Light, Smirnoff and Open Wide Dental, we were able to push the envelope even further."
Festivities begin at 11:00 AM, with The Preshow, featuring Miss Trans USA 2019 Candi Stratton, presented at The Rock, 4129 N 7th Avenue, during the annual Seventh Avenue Street Fair. It will introduce this year's pageant theme, a celebration of our transgender community, royalty, kings and queens, intended to unite people across the gender spectrum.
This year's MGMA pageant begins at 6:00 PM and is hosted by Savanah Stevens, (Miss Gay Scottsdale America 2016, Miss Gay Copper City America 2015 and Miss Gay Phoenix America 2014), and Nevaeh McKenzie, (Miss Gay Phoenix America 2015, Miss Gay Arizona America 2015 and Top 5 Miss Gay America 2016).
