The Sedona Women's Institute's two-day Power of Sisterhood Conference brings together facilitators, speakers and like-minded women to explore, discover and make plans to support, guide and empower women and girls, Sept. 2-3 at the Sedona Creative Life Center, 333 Schnebly Hill Road in Sedona.
"Our goal is to provide the inspiration, tools, resources and support for women ready to take the next step, whether that means starting a business, stepping into the political field, joining a women's movement or easing the younger generation into authentic lives of their own," said Karen Ely, founder and director of the Sedona Women's Institute and a speaker, mentor and author.

Topics for the conference include:
• Who Am I?: Insightful exercises and experiences to help you clarify and define who you are, what you value and how your talents and gifts can help you step into a more heart-filled, meaningful life.
• Leading from Your Heart: Exercises and experiences to assist you in listening more effectively to your own heart . . . What do I most want to do? What is my calling? How can I use my talents and gifts to be of service?
• Leaving a Legacy: Facilitated panel discussion on how you can contribute to making the world a better place for women and girls.
• Breakout sessions: Heart-centered business, natural mentoring, coaching, storytelling and public service.
• Vision Mapping: Moving you from this is my dream to definable goals and timelines.
• Sisterhood Circles: Gathering in small communities of like-minded women who are passionate about supporting women in the same way they are.
SPEAKERS AND FACILITATORS
• Karen Ely: a speaker, facilitator, mentor and author who inspires women of all ages, incomes and backgrounds to live to their full potential. She is the founder and director of the Sedona Women's Institute, one of the country's premier women's personal growth programs, which has offered hundreds of programs and touched thousands of women all over the world since its inception in 2003. Karen is also the author of five well-received books, including: Daring to Dream: Reflections on the Year I Found Myself, A Retreat of My Own, Breathing Space: Mini-Retreats for the Heart & Soul, 21 Days of Gratitude and 21 Stepping Stones to a More Peaceful, Meaningful Life. A Safe Place to Stand will be published in 2018.
• Christine Wagner: the creator of Power2Thrive, a natural mentoring program of workshops and experiences for women and girls. The author of the soon-to-be published book, Power2Thrive: The Power of Mentoring through the Voices of Women and Girls, she is an internationally experienced workforce development specialist and curriculum designer, leading workshops and retreats for women in transition around the country.
• Shondra Jepperson: an alumnus of the Juilliard School of Drama with an impressive 40-year resumé of acting and performance credits, she also is a voice, acting, performance and life coach. Among her awards for community service are the Arizona Community Foundation's 2017 Community Collaborator of the Year Award, National Association of Women Business Owners 2017 Community Involvement Award and Professional Women's Group's 2012 You Make a Difference Award.
• Beth Bryce: an award-winning career coach who works with professional women, small business owners and others looking to transform their careers into their life's work by creating an action plan, eliminating self-doubt and obstacles and increasing confidence to take risks and action to realize their goals. She is a co-author in the anthology, Women on Fire: Volume 2, her chapter is titled, "I'm Marrying Me."
• Sunday Larson: an author, artist, teacher and healer, she believes every woman has a story to tell and that every woman's voice is sacred. Inspired by her education in the disciplines of women's literature, art history and semiotics, she includes the parallel patterns of ancient myths, women's literature and natural processes in guiding women in refining the voice, mission and message of their creative projects.
• Barbara Litrell: dedicated to the spiritual, social, political and economic empowerment of women, she began her career as a French teacher in New York followed by a 28-year career in advertising sales and management with The New York Times and as publisher of national women's magazines including Working Woman, Working Mother and McCall's. After 10 years of leading Mary Magdalene celebrations in Sedona, Barbara is writing a book about when a woman experiences her "Magdalene Moment" when she is no longer defined by others, knows herself and her gifts and speaks truth to power.
Cost for the conference is $295 and includes the two-day event and guidance and support for the Sisterhood Circle including monthly conference calls and a private online "coffee shop" for sharing idea, finding support and cheering each other on.
