The Brelby Theatre Company located in Historic Downtown Glendale, will be bringing Shakespeare's classic A Midsummer Night's Dream to audiences this fall.

Performing at the E. Lowell Rogers Amphitheater in Murphy Park, Brelby is delighted to revisit one of Shakespeare's most accessible comedies with a new twist. Mischief and merriment collide in this fresh rendition of Shakespeare's most popular romantic comedy.

"We're proud to be partnering with the City of Glendale through their Public Arts Program," states Executive Director, Brian Maticic. "This partnership has allowed us to offer our second full scale Shakespeare production for free to the general public. After the success of last year's production of Macbeth, we're ecstatic to be offering some lighter fare in our ninth season."

"This production pays homage to the unique environments of music festivals," explains Artistic Director, Shelby Maticic. "Between the different characters we've drawn inspiration from Coachella, Tomorrowland, and even the Rolling Stones. It's a fun and fast paced rendition of Midsummer that Shakespeare enthusiasts and novices alike will love."

In just one night, four magical stories are cleverly woven together: the marriage of the Athenian duke to the Amazon queen; the battle of the king and queen of the fairies; the follies of four lovers in a forest; and the hilarious antics of amateur actors staging a play. Enter a vibrant world where fairies fly overhead, a donkey bursts into song, and love potion makes your perspective turn on a dime.

A Midsummer Night's Dream features returning performances by several Brelby artists including Michael Moramarco as Bottom (Little Shop of Horrors, Quest for Claus: the musical), Devon Mahon as Demetrius (Windfall, Depend on Me), Marina Sharpe as Lysander (Macbeth, unexpected), Brenna Jackson as Hermia (After Hours at Rosie's Pub, Blacklisters), Shelby Huston as Hippolyta (After Hours at Rosie's Pub), Brandon Sanchez (Blacklisters), Wendy Warwick White (Depend on Me), Brady Anderson (Depend on Me), Christina Maxwell as Puck (The Sun God's Coin), Tyler Rich as Francis Flute (The 25th Annual Putnam Count Spelling Bee), Jessie Tully as Snout (The Pledge, The Oz Chronicles), Rebecca Houck as Starveling (After Hours at Rosie's Pub), Thea Eigo as Peaseblossom (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Karson Cook as Mote (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Dogfight), and Kevin Fenderson as Cobweb (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Dogfight).

Making their Brelby stage debut are Sonya Joseph as Titania, Caroline Lasseter as Helena, Chris Ulbrich as Peter Quince, Rebecca Ulbrich as Snug the Joiner, and Katie Tuchi, Alyssa Bidwell, and Ashley Updegraff in the Fairy Chorus.

Brelby partners with local downtown Glendale businesses to offer more options for audience members. By showing their digital ticket, audiences can receive 10% off of their bill at the Hop Stop Diner, 10% off of any entrée at Haus Murphy's Restaurant, and 10% off of a customer's bill at the Olde Towne Glendale (OTG) Beer & Wine Bar or the Gaslight Inn.

A Midsummer Night's Dream performs November 3-5, and 10-11 at 7:30pm. Tickets are available by visiting the official website at brelby.com. This production is FREE to the public, thanks to support in part by the City of Glendale Public Arts Program. It is recommended that seats be reserved online in advance.
