A thrilling new mystery from the playwright of Arizona Theatre Company's smash hit Sherlock Holmes and the Adventures of the Suicide Club and the film Mr. Holmes makes its world premiere at the Temple of Music and Art in Tucson, Arizona; Jeffrey Hatcher's Holmes and Watson will leave you on the edge of your seat with such suspense.
After the supposed death of Sherlock Holmes at Reichenbach Falls, John Watson (R Hamilton Wright) makes his way to a mental asylum on an island off the Scottish coast upon receiving information that only the real, possibly not deceased Holmes knows. Being forced to discover the truth, Watson encounters three patients, each matching Holmes' description and each claiming to be the man himself.
Watson continues his investigation, in hopes of determining who is the real Holmes: Patient 1 (James Richael Reilly), Patient 2 (Noah Racey), or Patient 3 (Remi Sandri). As each reveals truths and secrets, Watson comes to discover what really occurred at Reichenbach Falls between Holmes and the criminal mastermind, Professor Moriarty.
It is a mystery with many twists and turns. Just as you think you have figured out the plot, another surprise comes along to derail your conclusion. Holmes and Watson is a suspenseful, fun ride from beginning to end. What a great way to end such a memorable, historic season at ATC.
Tucson audiences are sure to enjoy another wonderful hit from Hatcher, but there is one request on behalf of artistic director David Ira Goldstein: don't give away the ending to this mystery!
